Who am I ?

Uma York  was raised in New York City.  At the tender age of ten she moved to the Park Slope area and quickly began to soak up the rich culture of Manhattan. 

 

In her teens she launched her modeling career working with designers such as Karl Kani and then entered the music and entertainment industry as an assistant at Kedar Entertainment Music group. In that Company she helped him launch Korus Wine and helped as a wine coordinator. 

Eventually moving on, she returned to her modeling career working with independent and mainstream designers and developed a strong interest in fashion and Costume designs.

Her experience in fashion and business led her to the formation of  YouthUnited Youth development  with Model walking and etiquette Class in 2013.  In the summer of 2015, having relocated to Atlanta, she added the Youth United  label at the First Annual Imported Prints YU Entertainment Fashion Show in Atlanta.  The show generated interest in the southern metropolis which lead to widespread popularity in the local fashion and entertainment industries.

Youth United has been premiered in fashion show events from Walk Atlanta, Walk NYC, 1145 fashion mixers and Bronner Brother Hair. Contributing to the community, Umm has donated her time to do shows for the Youth of Morehouse, Spellmen and Clark Atlanta College  and Peachtree International Film Festival. Her special event production abilities also contributed to the success of Atlanta’s 9th Annual Winter White party.

As business woman, Alternative Model, Print Model, Runway Model, Stylist , Event Hosting & Coordinating  also Managing her own Youth Development Programs that helps feed the children of Haiti, she has positioned herself as an  influential name in Atlanta fashion Industry.

Now she is focused of making a splash as a Runway Model Trainer, With an amazing signature walk.

As a Fashion Designer I'm sure she will leave an impact in the world of fashion with her Egyptian - African Cultural clothing line RoyaltyCustoms.
